On the 2008 Focus the fuel filter should be in the normal location just in front of the fuel tank. However in 2009 they changed to a "life-time" filter that is part of the fuel pump. I am not sure when the build-date split when they changed designs. NOTE The fuel filter is located underneath the vehicle in the area of the rear suspension. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Raise the vehicle. NOTE To remove the lines, press the quick-release tabs on the connectors. Remove the fuel filter bolt and remove it from the bracket.
